The Gang and the Immigration Game

by Citizen on May 23, 2013

It’s another case of amnesty for millions now, and maybe we’ll get around to building a bit more fence on the southern border eventually.

Be worried about the condition of illegal immigration in our country. In the face of the IRS scandal, which proves the ineptitude, dishonor, and deceitfulness of this huge central government’s administrative arms, how can Congress even consider the huge, added bureaucracy and expense of the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill presently under consideration.

Uncle Sam protect borders, effectI agree with those who have indicated that steps should be taken one at a time to remediate the situation and the FIRST thing to be done must be to SECURE THE BORDER. We don’t need more of the irresponsible behavior and lies with which President Reagan was confronted, while he believed that promises of a secure border would be kept. Democrats lied then; they lie now and the RINOs probably right along with them.

Nothing else should be done until border security is accomplished.

Candidates for citizenship should then be vetted for financial self-sufficiency, non-use of illicit drugs, and, most importantly, an abiding desire to be AMERICANS, not to come here and create their own little country within our borders.

I wrote to my Congressional representatives asking them NOT to support the “Gang of Eight” Immigration bill. I asked them to let me know how they plan to vote; then I’ll know what next to say to them. What will you do?

Memorial Day! What does that mean to you?

by Citizen on May 23, 2013

Is it the momentous sales event you’ve been waiting for? A day to stoke-up the grill and roll out the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer? The first visit of the season to the shore or the local pool? Sounds like fun…but that’s not what Memorial Day is about.

USA flag paintMemorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who have died serving our nation by sacrificing their very lives in the cause of LIBERTY, a word which describes what the United States is really about.

It is not necessary for us to try to restate the history of this great day. There are several websites which do that very effectively, like one created by the Sons of Union Veterans & David Merchant (with links to related, important information).

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a festive day with family, friends, and community, but let there be a moment when we quiet down and raise our minds and hearts to the heroes and heroines of the day. May God bless their sacrifice and their immortal souls. And may we, as sovereign citizens, who continue to reap the enduring benefits of their sacrifice, never allow political ideologues, those without faith and patriotic principles, and other disparaging miscreants, to diminish the greatest gift to us from those great guardians of freedom.

God bless those who have died to keep us free.

God bless those who continue to fight for our freedom.

Money and Evil

May 17, 2013

There is much being made of the speech* our Holy Father, Pope Francis, gave before the new non-resident ambassadors to the Holy See, from Kyrgyzstan, Antigua, and Barbuda, Luxembourg, and Botswana. I encourage you to read for yourself the actual speech, so that you will not be misled by those who would distort it to [...]

Common Core and the Statist Takeover of Education

April 27, 2013

It sounds good: all our kids on the same page, receiving the best education the federal government can force states to provide, in exactly the way they’re told to do it… Well, no, that last part doesn’t sound good at all; so, why would the nation’s governors give up local and state control of our [...]

A Nation of Immigrants

April 18, 2013

I came across an article* published Nov. 18, 2004, by Science News titled, “New Evidence Puts Man In North America 50,000 Years Ago.” Upon reading it, my first thought, given the present debate about illegal immigration, was that those early first inhabitants of the continent did not have to deal with the idea of immigration. [...]

Condemning Conservatives

November 16, 2012

Irresolute Republican Party “leaders” prefer extending a fragile harmony and obsequiousness to Obama & his cronies above preserving a principled, steadfast foundation. Last night I attended the November meeting of a local Republican Club in northern New Jersey. (Yes, even New Jersey has local Republican Clubs!) The meeting was devoted to brainstorming ways to increase [...]

Envy, the Purveyor of Socialism

November 8, 2012

Growing up in America was a great gift from God. I was often told how blessed my family were to be living here. As a child I heard about the severe darkness of the totalitarian Soviet Empire. The lack of freedom they experienced there was frightening to me. I could only imagine how horrible it [...]

OBAMA, the STAR

November 7, 2012

Culture is an important element to consider in running for office. We seem to have a culture that loves a “star,” but not in the way of the old Hollywood stars like Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, or Doris Day. Today’s stars seem to glow brightly for a much shorter while. The next big craze appears [...]
